Gulf Coast Triathlon Ironman Triathlon
    May 10, 2008 November 1, 2008

triathlon Both the Gulf Coast and the Ironman Triathlons use the park for part of their run course. If the waters of the gulf are too treacherous, the Ironman Triathlon will hold the swim in the Grand Lagoon with the entrance and exit being made from the boat ramp area in the park.

Park volunteers are needed to help direct runners and traffic during both events. The Ironman Triathlon is double the length of the Gulf Coast Triathlon, so volunteers are needed to keep the park open after hours. If the swim is held in the park, volunteers are needed to open the park early. We may need other volunteers for crowd control, to keep spectators from trampling certain grasses or sea oats, to help pick up trash, or to drive the park course to be sure there are no runners in trouble.
